Arrests made in PTC Target, Tyrone Sonic armed robberies

Four men from Peachtree City, Riverdale and Union City have been arrested in connection to recent armed robberies at the Target store and the Pit Stop convenience store in Peachtree City and the Sonic Drive-in in Tyrone.

Kyle Cornell, 22, of Harbor Loop, Peachtree City, was arrested on Sept. 21 on two counts of armed robbery; Jeramie Ruiz, 18, of Lexington Circle, Peachtree City, was arrested on one count of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime;

Demetrious Tucker, 22, of Sunrise Court, Union City, was arrested Sept. 21 on one count of armed robbery and obstruction; and Jimmy Nash, 20, of Garden Lake Drive, Riverdale, was arrested Sept. 21 on two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault and

one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Capt. Rosanna Dove.

Dove said the Peachtree City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division executed a total of 12 arrest warrants and one search warrant which resulted in the arrest of the named individuals.

Also being sought with arrest warrants issued is 20 year-old Bradford J. Gibbs, Jr., of Tom Bridges Road in Newnan, on charges of one count of armed robbery, one count of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The men are familiar with each other and have been known to associate with each other on a social level, Dove said.

The arrests stemmed from of an extensive investigation involving the armed robberies of the Peachtree City Target Store on Ga. Highway 74 in Kedron Village on Aug. 30 and the Pit Stop convenience store on Ga. Highway 54 on Sept. 12, Dove said.

During the investigation it was discovered that the Peachtree City armed robberies were linked to an armed robbery that occurred at the Sonic Drive-In on Hwy. 74 in Tyrone, said Dove. The Sonic armed robbery occurred on Sept. 12.

Peachtree City Investigators are currently following up on several additional leads concerning these cases, Dove said, adding that other arrests could be forthcoming.

Dove also noted that there was no evidence of gang activity involving the individuals arrested.

Dove said as leads developed the Tyrone Police Department was instrumental in assisting with the investigation, also noting that Target was extremely helpful in providing video and other information pertaining to the investigation.
