On Saturday, Sept. 17 the fire-pits will light up at 4 a.m. for the seventh annual Chicken-Que at Peachtree City United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Men are joining together again for the seventh year with the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City for their annual Chicken-Que fundraiser. Proceeds from the event go to the Scout Lodge at PTCUMC supported by UMM, and many deserving organizations supported by the Kiwanis Club.
Members say there is hope of increasing the past record of 1,500 dinners to over 2,000 servings this year. UMM member Mike Holcomb said, “The UMM and the Kiwanis Club are expecting to set an all time sales record, so get your tickets soon!”
On Sept. 17 dinners may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the PTCUMC church Windgate campus, 400 Windgate Road at the intersection of Windgate Road and Peachtree Parkway. The Scouts will have customers in and out quickly.
“Once you arrive at the food pick-up station in your car or in your golf cart, a Scout will hand you your bag with the dinners you have pre-purchased without ever needing to exit your vehicle,” a spokesperson said. “There are no accommodations to eat on site; this is a drive through and pick up only. “
Tickets may be purchased for $8 per plate. The dinner consists of one half grilled barbecue chicken, a side of baked beans, coleslaw and bread.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. To purchase your dinner tickets, and for information, call Danny McCranie, 678-364-0315.
