Mr. and Mrs. Martin Brooker of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Beth Brooker, to Joshua Lee Durm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Durm of Franklin, N.C.

The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Fayette County High School. She is a 2009 magna cum laude graduate of Brevard College where she earned a bachelors degree in health science studies and in 2010 graduated from Western Carolina University with an accelerated bachelor of science in nursing degree. She currently works as a registered nurse in neurology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

The groom-elect is a 2009 Brevard College graduate with a bachelors degree in business and organizational leadership. He is currently employed by Lowes in Timonium, Md.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 in Williamson. Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Towson, Md.
