A Peachtree City man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for making pornographic videos of his young daughter, niece and one of their friends.

Edgar Pagan-Torres, 43, pled guilty in February to those charges,

admitting to making sexually explicit videos with the girls, all of whom were under the age of 10,

according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta.

Some of the videos were recorded at Pagan-Torres’ Peachtree City home, and others at his home in Puerto Rico, officials said.

Also, Pagan-Torres admitted to possessing “a large collection” of photographs and videos of child pornography that he had downloaded from the Internet, officials said.

Until recently, Pagan-Torres was a lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army, officials said.

The case began in 2008, a year after Pagan-Torres’ family moved from Puerto Rico to Peachtree City, when Pagan-Torres’ niece confided that he had molested her and his daughter, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The next year, family members shared the information with police in Puerto Rico, and Pagan-Torres pled guilty there in early 2010 to charges relating to his niece’s molestation allegations, officials said.

The Puerto Rico investigation sparked a probe from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division at Ft. McPherson, which seized various computers and digital media from Pagan-Torres’ home in Peachtree City.

Prior to moving to Peachtree City, Pagan-Torres was assigned to Fr. Buchanan in Puerto Rico from 2004 to 2007, officials said. It was in that time frame that Pagan would supervise his daughter and niece playing together, along with a third girl from the neighborhood, officials said.

Pagan-Torres’ guilty plea was accepted Feb. 22 by U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division and the Peachtree City Police Department.
