An eighth person has been arrested by Fayette County Sheriff’s investigators in connection to a case of insurance fraud relating to an August 2010 arson fire at a residence in the Shiloh Mobile Home Park near Peachtree City.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Brent Rowan said Fayette County investigators with the assistance of Richland County South Carolina Sheriff’s Office, the Columbia, S.C., Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) made an arrest on June 29 in connection with an arson for profit investigation which began on Aug. 4, 2010.
Quintiffney Murff, 29, of Columbia, South Carolina was charged with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO), Rowan said.
Rowan said the case involved Murff participating in a multi-state scheme involving the purchasing of mobile homes and burning them for profit. Murff is the eighth person arrested in this case and is currently at the Richland County Jail where she is awaiting extradition, said Rowan.
The case involved five women arrested in March in a statewide insurance fraud scheme that involved an August 2010 fire in a Shiloh Mobile Home Park residence. Investigators determined that the fire was suspicious in nature, discovering similar fires in Columbus, Kennesaw, Hampton and Locust Grove.
In another case, Fayette sheriff’s investigators on June 21 arrested a Miami, Florida woman in connection with two cases of entering auto on June 2 and 9, Rowan said.
Shanti Roland Moore, 33, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence, Rowan said.
Rowan said this case involved Moore possessing and destroying documents stolen from vehicles in Fayetteville during the month of June. Moore was destroying the documents in an effort to hinder the prosecution of her boyfriend Antonio Larry who was arrested on June 1 on entering auto charges, said Rowan.
