Like so many other community events at Hutcheson Ferry Park in Chattahoochee Hills, the official opening of the 103-acre park on Hutcheson Ferry Road June 18 came with the customary flair and community spirit. The opening day celebration was significant in symbol and substance because Hutcheson Ferry Park is one of several park properties the city was able to purchase from Fulton County after the city’s less than 3,000 residents took the initiative and raised $250,000 in a matter of weeks.
