Mr. James Edward Butler, Sr., of Fayetteville, passed away on June 20, 2011 at the age of 85.

Mr. Butler was a dedicated provider, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was an Army veteran who proudly served his country during WWII, serving in the Philippines. Following his military service he worked for the Boomershine Automotive Service Center until his retirement. During his retirement Mr. Butler served as a Pastor’s Associate at Kenwood Baptist Church where he had attended for many years.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nona Bowen Butler.

He is survived by his daughter Gail Logue and her husband Bob, of Bremen, GA; sons James E. Butler, II of Milner, GA, Doug Butler and his wife Debbie of W. Panama City, FL, and Tim Butler of Griffin GA; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Kenwood First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with Reverend Darrell Hayes and Reverend Lynn McClain officiating. Family and Friends will meet at the Southview Cemetery in Moreland, GA at 3:00 PM following the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
