Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville will present “The Lake Experience: The Path to the Savior” on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, from 6-8 p.m.

“The Path to the Savior,” is a walking tour on the church’s lake property that is based on the miraculous, life-changing “touch” of Jesus as He lived out His walk of suffering. Special golf-cart accommodations will be available for those with special needs.

A full cast of over 100 adult, teen and children actors will help the viewers walking the Lake trail to “experience” a full interactive journey with Jesus and His followers.

“Jesus suffered much before ever reaching the cross, as He extended Himself in physical, emotional, and spiritual exhaustion,” a spokesperson said. “He risked His life before the Sanhedrin and state officials daily as He reached out to hundreds upon hundreds of diseased and hurting people, changing their lives physically and spiritually forever.”

Scenes depicted are Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well, the Sermon on the Mount, the blind beggar healed, the raising of Lazarus from the dead, and calming the storm on the sea.

“Because of the great impact and overwhelming turnout that we had at Christmas during the Dickens Village Lake Experience, we felt the need to offer something new in the community to bring people together at the Easter season,” said Ken White, Heritage’s worship arts technical director. White adds, “Not a great deal happens in a dramatic passion play fashion on the south side of Atlanta, so we would like to plant the seeds for a growing Lake Experience passion play people can enjoy each year.”

The presentation has similar elements found in some of the well-known outdoor Black Hills Passion Play presentations that tour around the country.

“The Path to the Savior is a unique, interactive outdoor dramatic presentation, depicting the touch of the Savior,” White said. “It not only gives families and individuals something special to identify with for the Easter season for years to come, but it takes the audience back to the days of the Bible, and places them in the ‘center’ of the outdoor stage action, walking in the footsteps of Jesus around the realistic lake and trail setting.”

In addition, he adds that the church hopes to impact the community by offering a professional, quality outdoor interactive presentation that brings families together at Easter, sharing the message of faith and hope.
