A Peachtree City man charged with church burglaries in Fayette and Coweta counties in late 2010 has been returned to Fayette after spending the past few months in the Coweta County Jail.
Joseph Michael Robinson, 25, of Peachtree City, was charged April 11 on outstanding warrants related to the burglaries of two Peachtree City churches, said department spokesperson Rosanna Dove.
Robinson was charged with the Nov. 22-23 burglaries at Peachtree City Christian Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church, both off Ga. Highway 74 North. Items taken in the burglaries included cash, computers and musical instruments, according to law enforcement sources.
A substantial amount of electronics and money was located in Robinson’s residence on Morgans Turn, Dove said during the 2010 investigation.
Robinson was also charged by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in the burglary of Christ’s Church at Whitewater on Ga. Highway 85 South, Dove said.
The November investigation into Robinson’s activities led investigators to link him with two additional burglaries in Coweta County, including Crossroads Church on Ga. Highway 16 and Community Christian Church, also on Hwy. 16, Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Maj. James Yarbrough said previously.
Yarbrough said the Coweta burglaries resulted in the theft of $2,000 in church equipment including a portable music studio and a video projector.
