Mrs. Elizabeth “Blondie” Swetmon, 87, of Christian City, formerly of East Point and Fayetteville, passed away on March 14, 2011.
Mrs. Swetmon was a very loving and generous person who never met a stranger. She was an adventurous lady who spent time outdoors, fishing and enjoyed reading. She adored her poodles, Beegee and Bo. She retired from Nabisco with over 43 years of dedicated service.
She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty years, Roy Earnest Swetmon; son Roy Dale Swetmon and his wife Marcie; daughter Nancy Gail Brown and her husband Stan of Fayetteville; life-long friend Eloise Barter; grandsons, Jason Scott Swetmon, Matthew Brown and his wife Kim of Salem, AL; granddaughter Michelle Brown of Salem; great-grandson Austin Lee Brown; nephew Wesley Leon Turner and his wife Brenda of Toccoa, GA; great-nephew Johnny Turner and his wife Robin of Toccoa; great-niece Cristie Taylor of Toccoa; great-great nieces, Corrie Taylor, and Lesha Tanner and her husband Josh; great-great-nephew, Shane Turner and his wife Brittany; great-great-great nieces, Mattie Grace Turner, and Molly and Mandy Tanner; many other nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Julia Catherine Mitchell of Buchanan, GA, and Lois Ann Cumpton and her husband Milton of Fruitville, GA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Dr. David Chancy and Dr. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
