You know what they say, if the shoe fits…you get to marry the prince.

Newnan Community Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” Thursdays-Sundays, Mar. 17-27.

The story, based on the beloved fairy tale, is about a young woman who is forced to act as a servant to her evil stepmother and stepsisters. When a ball is thrown to find the prince a wife, Cinderella, with the help of her magical fairy godmother, goes to the ball and dazzles him. She must leave the ball before the clock strikes midnight though and in her haste leaves behind a glass slipper. The prince searches the kingdom for the girl who fits into the slipper. Will the prince find Cinderella and live happily ever after? If you know your fairy tales, you know the answer, but the fun is in getting there.

The show is directed by Jennifer Dorell, with Mandy Mitchell directing the choreography and Becky Clark directing the music. “Cinderella” features lavish costumes, elegant dancing and a full pit orchestra.

In addition to the musical, the theater is also hosting Tea with Cinderella on Saturdays, Mar. 19 and 26 from 11a.m.-12:30 p.m. There will be tea and finger foods, games, photos, and Cinderella will teach everyone to waltz. Attendees are encouraged to come in their best Prince or Princess costume. Joining Cinderella will be the King, Queen, Prince and some other surprise guests. Tickets are $5 a child and parents are free.

Showtimes for “Cinderella” are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets on Two-For-One Thursdays are $12. Prices for other performances are $12 for adults, 10 for students and seniors and $8 for children.
