Local residents will have a chance to speak out Thursday on the regional “Plan 2040” plan which includes a host of proposals for metro-wide transportation initiatives.
A neighborhood forum on the plan will be hosted Thursday at the Wendell Coffee Golf and Events Center at 1963 Ga. Highway 74 North just outside of Tyrone.
Plan 2040 also addresses land use, housing, economics, human services, greenspace and air/water quality under the theory that the Atlanta area is likely to grow by 3 million people over the next 30 years.
The forum will run from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Reservations are requested to make sure there are enough materials for all participants, and they can be made by filling out a form at www.civicleagueatlanta.org/component/chronocontact/?chronoformname=neigh….
The event is being hosted by the Civic League for Regional Atlanta.
A wealth of additional information about Plan 2040 is available at www.atlantaregional.com/transportation/plan-2040.
According to information about the meeting, the development of Plan 2040 is “an opportunity for assessment, evaluation and possibly redirection as we develop regional policies and actions that direct resources for transportation investments and provide assistance to local governments.”
The forum is free and open to the public.
