Jan had an undying love for children and their education. She fought hard with the school board in Miami, Florida, on behalf of underprivileged and troubled children. This fight led to an alternative school being developed of which she is the namesake. The Jan Mann School of Opportunity was dedicated in 1983 and the new building was rededicated to Jan in the early 90’s. When Jan moved to Georgia she began working for MDA where she became one of the top fundraisers for Jerry’s Kids. She was a blessing to many and loved by all.
