0Mr. James W. Bailey, 89, of Fayetteville, died February 19, 2011.
He was born in the Starr’s Mill community in 1922 to the late Sam and Mamie Bailey. He served in both the US Merchant Marines and the US Navy during World War II. He retired in 1973 from Fort McPherson. He was also a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church .
He is survived by his sister-in-law Omie Lee Bailey of Fayetteville ; seven nieces and nephews: Sam Jones, Janelle Taylor, Larry Jones, Bobby Kerlin, Tom Kerlin, Cheryl Miller, and Richard Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Mark Westmoreland will officiate. Burial will follow at Lisbon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
