Sue Everhart, Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, will be guest speaker at the Greater Fayette Republican Women’s Club luncheon meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Chairman Everhart was elected as the first woman Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party in May of 2007.  She was re-elected to a second term in May of 2009 and is now running for re-election for a third term.  During her tenure as Chairman, Georgia has proven to be one of the most Republican states in the nation.  In 2008, Georgia went against the national trend and delivered the state for John McCain, re-elected U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss and maintained Republican majorities in the Congressional Delegation, Constitutional Offices, and the General Assembly.

In 2010, Georgia had the second highest number of Republican victories on the state and federal level.  Republicans swept every Constitutional Office, re-elected U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, and built on the majorities in the Congressional Delegation and the General Assembly.  Several of the Constitutional Office gains were the first in the state’s history.  Sue was chosen as one of ten women in the United States to be honored as a “Woman of Achievement” by the RNC in 2009.

Everhart currently serves on the RNC Rules and Ethics Committees as well as the Committee on Arrangements for the 2012 GOP National Convention.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at The Downtown Grill, 1158 Old Senoia Road, Tyrone.  For more information, please call Debby Dickinson, 404-376-4132 or Alberta Lucas, 770-719-0879.
