Emily Bradberry was crowned Miss Whitewater 2011 on Jan. 29, 2011. She earned the title and a $1,000 scholarship from the Whitewater High School Choral Department.
Taylor Martinez was selected as the first runner-up and received a $500 scholarship. Ginny Nicholson was chosen as second runner-up and given a $250 scholarship.
Thirty-six young women competed for the crown. The competition was held over a three-day period cumulating in the announcement of the winners on Saturday evening.
“We had a fantastic time over the last three days, and after seeing a lot of talent and determination, the six judges chose our winners,” said Whitewater Choral Director Clay Duggan. “All of the young ladies who competed deserve congratulations for their hard work.”
The contestants were judged on interview, talent, evening wear, introduction and grades. The top 10 finalists were also judged for their response to an on-stage question.
Several individual awards were given. Taylor Martinez was selected for Best Talent. Best Interview was awarded to Jenna Pyron. The award for Best Evening Wear was given to Kylie Hastings and the People’s Choice was Bria Cheney.
