Inez Jones Pye, 98, of Fayetteville died January 15, 2011.
Mrs. Pye was born in Tyrone May 26, 1912 to Willie & Daisy Jones where she was raised and lived until she married William Pye in August 1931, and moved to Fayetteville and has lived here since. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years.
Survivors include son Hoyt & Carolyn Pye of Cartersville; daughter Harriett & Ronald Parham of Fayette County; 4 grandsons, 10 great grandchildren; sister Margie & Billy Braswell; brother Emory & Barbara Jones.
Mrs. Pye was a life-long member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, belonging to Murphy Bible class & Fincher Ramsey Circle. She was also very active in volunteering in the Community Homemaker Club of Fayette County, being voted homemaker two times; she also served many years with the Fayette County Election Board. She was a member of William Sherrill Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.
Her many hobbies were quilting, gardening, and canning her foods.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home. The interment will be in Fayetteville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
