A pre-Christmas theft at the Shamrock Storage facility on Senoia Road in Tyrone left the locks cut on 64 storage units and the owners of many of those units robbed of some of their belongings.
Tyrone Police Det. Dean Johnson said the thefts occurred sometime between the night of Dec. 22 and the morning of Dec. 23. He said the thieves gained access to the property by cutting the fence on the side of the property adjacent to Crumpton’s Furniture.
The locks on 64 storage units were cut and at least 17 of the units had items stolen. Johnson said the thieves took items such as tools, musical instruments, a cappuccino machine, clothing and a number of small items.
It looked like they took items they could sell, Johnson said.
The investigation into the thefts is ongoing. Anyone with information relating to the case is asked to contact Det. Dean Johnson at 770-487-4732.
