Peachtree City has received 71 applications from across the country for its vacant city manager position, according to interim City Manager Nikki Vrana.
Those applications are being narrowed down by a committee that includes Vrana, the city attorney, the city’s human resources administrator and also Tom Hall, the city manager from LaGrange.
The committee plans to do interviews the week of Jan. 10 with the “short list” of candidates, Vrana said. Then the committee will narrow the field to about four candidates, she added.
“Our hope is that of the people we interview that we will have four very solid candidates we can present to council and have them do interviews with,” Vrana said.
The finalists will be presented to the city council, which will schedule another round of interviews before convening to make a final selection, ideally by the first week in February.
The city has been working toward a goal of having a new city manager on board my March 1, Vrana said.
