Business Advisory from the Fire Department, Winterize Sprinkler Systems, December 20 Special Called Council Meeting, and more . . .

Shop PTC / Find it in Fayette! ®
Last week, Betsy Tyler’s letter to the editor proposed having a heart and shopping locally. If you missed it, it is posted on the Shop Peachtree City page at www.peachtree-city.org/ShopPTC . Local businesses who want to obtain or replace the official Shop PTC/Find it in Fayette decals may contact Betsy Tyler at info@peachtree-city.org . Thank you for supporting local businesses this holiday season!

Turn Off Sprinkler Systems for the Winter!
It’s that time of year! Peachtree City is asking businesses, homeowner associations, and residents to turn off all timed sprinkler systems for the season to help prevent any “artificial” ice storms during the cold weather.

Alert for Local Businesses: Check FDC Connections, External Sprinkler Components
The Peachtree City Fire Department is asking businesses to check the outside of their buildings for possible theft of the metal fire sprinkler components, including Fire Department Connections (FDC). This activity has been seen throughout Metro Atlanta, including Peachtree City. If the external components are missing, the Fire Department has no way to connect to the fire suppression system, leaving the building vulnerable to fire. Businesses need to be vigilant in checking their systems, reporting any theft or vandalism to the police, and making the necessary repairs.

City Council Meetings in December
The December 16 Regular PTC Council meeting has been cancelled. However, Council will hold a Special Called Meeting on Monday, December 20, 8:00 a.m., at City Hall. The agenda includes bids for the renovation and Expansion of Fire Station 84, Rescue Pumper, Police Vehicles and accessories, and Council appointments to the CVB, Airport Authority, WASA, Leisure Services Commission, and Liaison appointments to these boards. The public is welcome.

Fire Department Education Bus – On Display Monday morning, December 20
The PTC Fire Department has completed their new “Public Education Bus” and have it on display at 8:00 a.m. at City Hall prior to the Special Called City Council Meeting. The bus was initially a surplus school bus, but with money and material donations from vendors, the Volunteer Firefighters Association, and a lot of hard work from the firefighters, they have transformed the bus into a great education aid.
