To make it easier to help local children through the well-known Toys for Tots campaign, a local group of active and retired Marines has undertaken efforts here to make sure toys collected in Fayette County
A toy drop will be set up at the Walmart store in Peachtree City Saturday and Sunday, and there is a specific need for toys for boys or girls between 9 and 14 years old, organizers said.
The drive is being led by the Clyde Thomason Detachment of the Marine Corps League, which is working in conjunction with the Atlanta area Toys for Tots drive.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
