PTC Civic Ballet’s ‘Nutcracker’ opens next weekend

The Peachtree City Civic Ballet Company will present the annual Fayette County Nutcracker Ballet on Saturday Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec.12 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School.

According to director Kathleen Senger, “this is the largest cast of dancers in our history of Nutcracker performances. All of the roles feature local dancers from Fayette, Coweta, Clayton, and Fulton counties. Dancing the role of Clara are Megan Schwinne, 6th grader at Booth Middle School, Sarah Matthers and Kate Thompson, 6th grade home school students.

The role of Sugar Plum Fairy will be performed by Fayette County High School senior, Emily Barton, Fayette County Sophmore, MaryGrace Williams, and Whitewater High School senior, Kelanie Hedou.

This holiday spectacular is complete with sparkling costumes, elegant scenery, and the traditional choreography, and beautiful Tchaikovsky score. The Peachtree City Civic Ballet Company is a non-profit organization with family friendly ticket prices of just $10.
