A request at a public hearing before the Senoia Planning Commission Monday to amend a portion of the zoning ordinance pertaining to residential zoning districts has been recommended for further review when the city looks at the Comprehensive Plan in 2014.

Proposed by Heritage Pointe subdivision resident Don Rehman, the request suggested that a new zoning category, R-40 RHS (Residential Housing Subdivision) be created.

Planning commissioners agreed in concept, adding the recommendation to the Senoia City Council that the matter be addressed during the review of the next Comprehensive Plan discussions due to begin in 2014.

The proposed R-40 RHS zoning district would preclude uses such as bed and breakfast establishments, cemeteries, childcare homes and churches.
The City Council will hear the recommendation in November.
