Stephen Martin Steen, 57, of Fayetteville, died October 11, 2010.
His family and flying were his passions in life. Mr. Steen was a Navy pilot for 7 years. Following his military service, he was a flight trainer for Burnsaid-Ott before beginning a career in commercial aviation flying for People Express and then American Airlines.
Mr. Steen is survived by Jeanne Steen of Fayetteville; sons Stephen Steen of Dawsonville and Sean Steen of Auburn, AL; sister Patty Trinkle and husband Mike of Fallbrook, CA; brother Brian Steen of Gordon, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Chaplain William Hemphill officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday before the service from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
