Mr. James Arthur Buck II, 55, of Fayetteville, died Monday October 11, 2010.
Mr. Buck was a recent resident of Fayetteville, Georgia and a resident of the Southern Crescent area for the last 35 years. Mr. Buck was involved with numerous charities, services and sports organizations as well as being active in the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Mr. Buck was an active member the Fayetteville Masonic Lodge No. 711 as well as the Yaarab Shriners organization. Mr. Buck served on the fundraising board of the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, was past President of Arts Clayton and AFC Lightning Soccer Club as well as numerous civic organizations. He is the son of the late Elizabeth Ann Holt of Sandersville. Mr. Buck was preceded in death by his daughter Marian.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Diane, three sons, Aaron Buck of Sharpsburg GA, John and Stephen Buck of Fayetteville. He is also survived by two daughters-in-law Kristi and Carolyn, three grandchildren: Madison (7), Dominic (3) and Isabella (1), two brothers, Lewis Holt Buck of Savannah, Bobby Gene Parker Jr of Warthen and their families.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, with Pastor Bob Horner officiating. The family will receive friends Friday 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. The burial will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Sandersville Old City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following charities in his honor: Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, AFLAC Children’s Cancer Center and the Building Fund of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
