Kadel Anniversary

George and Greta Kadel of Peachtree City celebrated their 60th anniversary Oct. 7, 2010. They were married in Manhattan, at Christ Methodist Church, on Oct. 7, 1950. They met at the Jersey Shore and were introduced by a friend when George was playing in a golf tournament.

After returning from WWII where he served from 1944 to 1946, George went to work for Bankers Trust and was there for 25 years as the youngest vice president the bank ever had. He later went with LaSalle Bank for seven years in the Chicago area as their senior vice president and then on to Montgomery Securities in San Francisco as vice president for 11 years, and where he retired in 1991.

Greta worked in merchandising in New York City, Chicago and San Francisco during George’s service with the banks in those cities. They have lived in Peachtree City for the last 19 years. Their hobbies are golf, tennis and duplicate bridge.

They have four children, Kenneth, Kathy, Karen (deceased in November 2009) and Kristine, and nine grandchlldren, Ron, Robert, Christopher, Kelley, Katie, Todd, Kristin, Brandon and Justin.

The Kadels celebrated the occasion with a party given by their family at Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City.
