Mrs. Opal Rhodes Gressett, of Fayetteville, died September 17, 2010.

She was a faithful member of College Park Second Baptist and McDonough Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Odie Gressett.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy & John Christopher of Fayetteville; grandsons Michael Snyder of Newnan and his fiancé Elisa Healey, and Steven and Amanda Snyder of Flowery Branch; great-grandson Dylan Snyder; sister Evelyn Puckett of Chunky, MS; sisters-in-law Ruth Gressett of AL, Janet Rogers of MS, and Ileen Gressett of CA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at McDonough Road Baptist Church. She will lie in state from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Dr. J.W. Wallis and Dr. David Smith will officiate. Burial will be held in Meridian, MS. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer society or the American Heart Association.
