The Rev. Fredrick (Fritz) Wiese will be installed as senior pastor at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City this Sunday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m. A pre-service concert will begin at 3:30, featuring The Christ Our Shepherd Brass, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Joyful Noise Ringers, and soloist Darren Siegerdt.

Sanctuary Choir, The Shepherd’s Flock Singers, and GraceFlock band will also provide music during worship.

The Rev. Julian Gordy of the Southeastern Synod, ELCA, will preach and conduct the installation rite. Area clergy have been invited to participate. After the service a catered picnic will be offered with activities for all ages.

Wiese, 43, came to Christ Our Shepherd July 31 after serving as pastor for discipleship at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Centerville, Ohio, since 1996. He earned degrees from Wittenberg University, Yale Divinity School, and Trinity Lutheran Seminary. He was ordained in 1994, and served Living Word Lutheran Church, Medina, Ohio, before moving to Epiphany. On May 23, Christ Our Shepherd voted unanimously to call Wiese to serve as its second senior pastor.

Of Pastor Wiese, Pastor Walter Arnold wrote, “Fritz … is one of the most creative preachers and pastoral leaders I have ever met.”

Pastor Larry Hoffsis said, “Fritz is a visionary leader, a congenial colleague, a team-work catalyst, a loyal friend.”

Wiese’s wife LuAnne is an elementary school teacher. His son Luke, 14, is a freshman at McIntosh High School, and daughter Morgan, 10, is a fifth-grader at Kedron Elementary.

The church is at Ga. Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Parkway.
