A Fayetteville man has received a commendation from Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue for his service with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.

Jeff Morrison, a senior planner for the GEMA Radiological Program, recently was awarded the Governor’s Commendation for Excellence in Customer Service. Morrison works with numerous counties to develop emergency management exercises.

Morrison was lauded for having a positive attitude, concern for those he is assisting and technical expertise and professionalism.

“Jeff always does an excellent job creating effective exercises that test the capabilities of all responders, and is frequently commended for his outstanding customer service,” says GEMA/Homeland Security Director Charley English. “He is an invaluable asset to GEMA, and we are proud the Governor recognized his great service with this commendation.”

Morrison is working to make exercise management easier by developing and maintaining an online calendar, and he is implementing an After-Action Reporting system (AAR) for exercises and GEMA events.

The Governor’s Office of Customer Service received more than 100 nominations from state agencies and employees. Thirty exceptional individuals and teams were selected by a group of Customer Service Champions and agency representatives to receive the Governor’s Commendation for Excellence in Customer Service.
