With reports of damaged, destroyed and stolen mailboxes accruing in Peachtree City, police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 in hopes of cracking the case.

At least one witness has told police the offenders appeared to be teenagers and were traveling on a golf cart, perhaps using either a bat or a broom handle.

Most of the incidents have happened in the evening and early morning hours, police said.

As for the locations, most of the incidents have occurred in subdivisions north of Ga. Highway 54, with subdivisions in the southern part of Kedron Village seemingly targeted at a higher rate than others, police said.

Some reports have also been made by residents who live in south Peachtree City, police said.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call police at 770-487-8866 or the city’s crime and narcotics information hotline at 770-487-6010. Callers may remain anonymous.

The reward of up to $1,000 will be offered to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offenders.
