Those beautiful red and white broad stripes and the 50 white stars on a blue background are about to celebrate a birthday.

Our flag, the American flag, the symbol of our great country, was adopted by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777. The resolution passed by our founding fathers described our flag with the following words; “White signifies purity and innocence; red hardiness and valor; blue signifies vigilance, perseverance and Justice”.

The James Waldrop Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution of Fayetteville reminds everyone to fly your flag on June 14.
