Daphine Johnson Ray, 80, of Fayetteville passed away May 23, 2010.

Mrs. Ray was a life-long musician, an accomplished pianist, vocalist, teacher, director and arranger. She taught privately and in the LaGrange Public Schools, as well as in numerous churches throughout her career.

Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Philip William Ray. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Regina & Michael McGraw of Norcross; daughter, Risë Ray Rudy of Fayetteville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Matthew & Jessica (Kollmeyer) Rudy of Ypsilanti, MI; brother, Dr. Lance Beauie Johnson of Davis , CA ; sister, Diane Johnson Clayton of Tallapoosa , GA and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with The Reverend Justin Kollmeyer officiating. A second service will be held 4:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Waco, GA with the body lying in state from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. The family welcomes flowers, or donations may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 257 Highway 314, Fayetteville, GA 30214 or Antioch Baptist Church, 1055 Old Highway 100 Waco, GA 30182.
