Mrs. Ruth Virginia Keck, of East Point , passed away on May 7, 2010 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Keck walked with the aid of crutches for most of her life but never allowed that to slow her down or cause her complain. She had a servant heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, an accomplished seamstress and a fantastic cook.

To many she would be known as a “stay at home wife” or a “homemaker”, but she was far from that. Besides her duties at home she spent countless hours volunteering as a “Pink Lady” while a member of the hospital auxiliary of South Fulton Medical Center , and served as its President for several years. She taught Sunday school for over 30 years while a member of the Hammond Park Baptist Church and most recently the Kenwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Gordon Keck of East Point; daughter Priscilla Rogers (Owen) of Riverdale; sons James Kenneth Keck of Jenkinsburg, and Glenn Howell Keck (Jennie) of Locust Grove; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons and thirteen great-granddaughters; sister Frances Langston of Savannah; many nieces and nephews and relatives in other states.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Kenwood Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Rev Lynn McClain will officiate. The burial will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Carl J. Mowell & Son, Fayetteville-www.mowellfuneralhome.com
