SFC Edmund W. Boyd, Jr., U.S. Army retired, 78, Peachtree City, GA, died April 21, 2010.
Mr. Boyd proudly served his country during the Korean and Vietnam War.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his son Harold David Boyd.
Survivors include his loving wife Dollie Boyd of Peachtree City, GA ; children Jerry Boyd and wife Renee of Senoia , GA, Cheryl Potter of Peachtree City, GA, Cathy Penner and husband Frank of Sharpsburg, GA, Steven Boyd of Peachtree City, GA; daughter-in-law Debbie Boyd of Senoia, GA; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Fayette Family Church, Fayetteville , GA, with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Remains will lie in state at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Family will receive friends Friday, April 23, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, GA.
