Joyce Geraldine “Jerri” Patrick Wilson, 81, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother Curtis Harlan and Thelma Patrick, her sister Josephine (Patrick) Aaron and brother Curtis Partick, Jr.
She is survived by her husband Hugh “Chuck” Wilson of nearly 59 years of a long, happy marriage; her daughter Cindy (Wilson) and David Bartosh of Fayetteville; son Jeff and Karen Wilson of McDonough; five grandchildren Ashley Bartosh, Anna Bartosh, Jena (Wilson) and Justin Hughes, Drew Wilson, and Zack Wilson; sister-in-law Jewel Fowler of Lawrenceville; and aunt Mavis Oglesby of Union City.
Mrs. Wilson graduated from Fulton High in 1945 and later attended Georgia State University. She was a lifelong member of the Kappa Theta Sorority. She was employed by Fulton Federal Savings and Loan for 42 years where she served as a Vice-President of Training and Operations. She and her family were members of Gordon Street Baptist in West End and Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in East Point for 40 years where she served in many ministries. She and her husband have been members of First Baptist Fayetteville for over 20 years.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Overton Chapel of Fayetteville First Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Stringham and Rev. Kenneth Koon officiating. She will lie in state at 10:30 at the church. The burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
