Venice LaVerne “Muzzie” Carroll, 72, of Fayetteville, died March 11, 2010.
She retired in 2003 after working over 30 years in the library at Hood Avenue Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her son Hoke Carroll.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband of 51 years Bill Carroll; daughter Sharon and Jerry Norton and their children Blake, Kyle, and Mollie of Fayetteville; grandchildren Jonathan Brown and Callie and Chad Vasser; great-grandson Brantley Vasser; son Brian and Andrea Carroll and their daughter Abigail of Hogansville; mother Lillian Rutledge; brothers Jim and Deeny Rutledge and Jack Rutledge; sisters Linda Ratteree and Carol and Tony Handley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 15, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Fayetteville First Baptist Church, Overton Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Inurnment will follow at Westminster Gardens, Peachtree City.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at C.J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
