A Better Way Ministries co-director Tony Ingram passed away unexpectedly Sunday night.

A Better Way founder John Barrow said Monday that cofounder and musician Tony Ingram died Sunday night of what is believed to have been a heart attack. Ingram is survived by a wife and two small children.

Barrow said Ingram was a director and one of three charter members of the ministry that opened its doors five years ago.

“He was a true man of God and an authentic Christian. He really had a heart for these men,” Barrow said of the men residing and working in the ministry in Coweta and Fayette counties that serves those with life-altering issues like alcohol and drug addiction. “He would rather be teaching and disciplining than anything. He was one of the pillars here and we’ll miss him. I know where he’s at but we will mourn and miss him. This is a big loss for us.”

Services for Ingram will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Orchard Hills Church in Newnan.
