Perry Andrew Padgett, 77, Fayetteville, died Jan. 11, 2010. He was a resident of Fayetteville for 45 years. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years in the 1950s, and worked as an airline mechanic for Delta Airlines for 22 years, from 1964 to 1986. Memorial services were at the Fayette Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Virginia Padgett, Fayetteville; a son, Todd Padgett, Bartow, Fla.; daughters, Melissa and David Allen, Sharpsburg, Donna McManus, and Amanda Donaldson, both of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a twin brother, Jerry Padgett, Summerville, S.C.; a sister, Johnette Whitley, Kannapolis, N.C.; and other brothers. Memorial donations may be made to Fayette Presbyterian Church, 701 Forest Ave., Fayetteville, GA 30214, or Vista Care Hospice, 1585 Hwy. 34 E., Newnan, GA 30265. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
