Robert Austin “Bob” Watson, 85, Riverdale, died Dec. 10, 2009. He was the oldest of nine children. He was a World War II survivor and Purple Heart recipient. He held numerous position at St. Matthew United Methodist Church and North Fayette United Methodist Church for over five decades. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lillian Watson, Riverdale; a son, Robert A. and Sheryl Watson Jr., Roswell; a daughter, Kathryn Watson and Michael Barb, Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde and Margaret Watson, Nashville; and sisters, Cleo Cowan, Franklin, Tenn., Joyce and Russell Smith, College Grove, Tenn., and Anita Gillespie, Spring Hill, Tenn. Memorial donations may be made to North Fayette United Methodist Church. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
