Local children are being asked to help the Peachtree City Police Department trim its Christmas tree this year.
Children who want to participate are invited to bring an ornament by the department Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., place it on the tree and have their picture taken with an officer.
Handmade ornaments are of course very welcomed because they will add a personal touch to the tree, organizers said.
While at the department, residents can also bring an unwrapped toy to put under the tree as the department collects them for underprivileged children in the community. All toys will be distributed to families in need of help over the holidays as part of the department’s “Light Up the Night” toy drive.
The police department is located at 350 Ga. Highway 74 South almost directly across from Gillroy’s hardware store.
