Development Authority to fill opening

County officials have announced one open position on the Fayette County Development Authority.

It is a volunteer body comprised of nine members, five of whom are appointed to at-large positions, for four-year terms, by the Fayette County Board of Commissioners. One member each is appointed by Fayetteville, Peachtree City and Tyrone. The remaining position is a member of the Peachtree City Airport Authority.

Fayette County’s Development Authority sets policy, determines annual goals, and serves as a liaison between the business community and local government. This board utilizes individual talents and experiences in building consensus in an effort to facilitate an improved business climate, diversified economic base, and a steady economy that results in benefits for every citizen, business owner, and government in Fayette County.

The authority typically meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Historic County Courthouse in the center of Fayetteville.

The open position is for a term beginning April 10 and expiring April 9, 2020.

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners will be accepting applications with resumes for this open position. All applications must be returned to Jones at 140 Stonewall Avenue West, Suite 100, in Fayetteville by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 25.
