Ruth Anderson of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on June 27, 2017, at age 92, with her two daughters by her side.

Ruth was the seventh child of a loving family of ten siblings, children of Howard and Bessie Payne.

Raised in Blue Ridge, Ga., she began working in the movie theater as a young girl. She befriended a young man named Cliff Anderson, who would hang around the lobby for popcorn and conversation.  Little did she know that this innocent friendship would lead to an exciting and challenging life as the wife of a USAF fighter-pilot. She was a devoted homemaker, whose greatest pleasure was raising two daughters and caring for her family.  Ruth and Cliff had an amazing 54 years together, until his passing in 1999.

She is survived by daughters Deborah Jean Anderson and Sandra Gail Anderson, her sisters Louise McMahon and Virginia Payne, and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Dorothy Messer, Eva Harper, Martha Young, Thelma Green, H.D. Payne, Jr., Jack Payne, and Betty Turner.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, with Reverend Keith Moore of Dogwood Church in Peachtree City officiating.  Burial followed at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro.

The family receivied friends at 11 a.m., prior to the 1 p.m. service. The family offers as an alternative to flowers, donations to The Fayette Senior Services Transportation Department 4 Center Drive, Fayetteville, Ga. 30215, in “Wilma” Ruth Anderson’s memory.
