Where are PTC’s Learnard, Fleisch on mass transit, regionalism?

That eerie feeling is back as we’ve come to regret the behind the scenes votes of Woolsey Mayor Gary Laggis and Brooks Mayor Dan Langford. Both of the mayors were big supporters of former Fayetteville Mayor Ken Steele.

Let’s put it this way: Ken Steele couldn’t have made all of those controversial regional votes without the full support of Mayor Langford and Mayor Laggis.

Mayor Langford and Mayor Laggis recently put Tyrone Mayor Eric Dial in as the new representative to the Atlanta Regional Commission. I’ll reserve judgment on Mayor Dial, but I know for sure Peachtree City Mayor Don Haddix has more experience and a proven track record of voting in favor of the quality of life we all enjoy.

I’m not sure why two of the council members in Peachtree City are working so hard to ruin Mayor Haddix. Councilwomen Kim Learnard and Vanessa Fleisch seem extremely determined to undermine everything Mayor Haddix does, including the recent ARC vote.

Where do Councilwoman Learnard and Councilwoman Fleisch stand on mass transit and Fayette County being stuck in regional governance with Clayton, Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett and the others? Why do they want to destabilize their city’s opportunities to lead? Is it personal or philosophical?

We’ve seen the type of damaging positions Mayor Langford and Mayor Laggis are willing to support, so what is the agenda of Councilwoman Learnard and Councilwoman Fleisch?

We keep voting out the ones who continuously try to pull us into outlandish road projects and regional situations that we’re guaranteed to lose so you would think that some of these others would get the message.
