Lawrence G Jennings Jr., a retired Air Force NCO from Virginia, started Freedom to Live Ministries in 2007 and recently opened the ministry’s doors as a church in Fayetteville. The congregation meets Sundays at 8 a.m. at 85 N. Business Parkway, Suite 105 Fayetteville. (FTLM shares a church with Abundant Life Word Church.)

Jennings served under the mentorship and pastoral leadership of Bishop B. Courtney McBath, senior founder of Calvary Revival Church (CRC) Norfolk, Va. He says the life of a servant has always been a part of his spiritual growth.

Under McBath, Jennings served as a maintenance ministry team lead, security ministry, care group leader, and men’s ministry leader, culminating as the Senior Pastors Armor Bearer. Much of his discipline he says is contributed to his 20 years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force, but all of his wisdom and knowledge is contributed to the “awesome work of the Holy Spirit in his life.”

Feeling a strong call to go into the ministry, Jennings relocated to Senoia in 2005 and began the ministry two years later.

“God has given me a mantle to establish a ministry that consists of foundational training and development, geared to maturing and disciplining men and women in their God given callings as well as propelling them into the world to advance the Kingdom of God,” Jennings says.

He says he is also called to assist other churches in establishing foundational teaching and training in various facets of ministry. He currently ministers weekly to the men at the local jail ministry in Fayette County.

Jennings is currently pursuing his degree in Biblical studies at Atlanta Christian College. He resides in Senoia, with his wife Kelly and two girls, Lauryn and Michelle. He also has a son, Larry III, currently serving as a United States Marine.

The current campaign at FTLM, “Come On Back,” is one Jennings says he is “pushing with a passion.”

“‘Come on Back’ is a campaign that reaches those who have been hurt and/or rejected by church members,” Jennings says. “It also reaches those who are just tired of church as usual. As we introduce you to our church, you’ll discover that our passion is to provide a place where people just like you can have a life-changing experience with God. At Freedom to Live Ministries, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey.

“We’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time. So, if you are still just checking out the ‘church scene’ and investigating the claims of Jesus Christ, thank you for allowing us to help you in your search. Or, if you are a committed Christ follower who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home at Freedom to Live Ministries.”
