Each Christmas Eve, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg, a short story is told to the children about Bishop Nicholas (270-343 AD) of Myra (in Modern Turkey). After a holy life of service to the poor and especially to the children, he was declared to be a saint. Hence, Saint Nicholas. Each year Bishop Saint Nicholas gives to each child the gift of a gold-colored U. S. dollar coin. This year, the part of Bishop St. Nicholas was played by Father Jason Epps, Senoia. Epps, a retired law enforcement officer, is a priest and Dean of the Cathedral. The vestments worn were some of the vestments owned by the late Bishop John W. Holloway. Epps is a graduate of Georgia State University, Saint Michael’s Seminary, and the FBI National Academy. Photo/Submitted.
