The temperatures might not feel like fall just yet, but there is a clear way to know it’s coming. That is because it is time for the 2011 Kiwanis Coweta County Fair. The annual fair opened Sept. 22 at the county fairgrounds on Pine Road and will run through Oct. 1.
Aside from the many rides, the fair will feature entertainment such as Animal Magic, Racing Pigs, Muttsville Comix and live music.
The various exhibits featured during the 10-day period will include horticulture, livestock, baked goods, youth and adult handicrafts, art, photography and a host of contests such as a scavenger hunt and a lumberjack competition.
Kiwanis has sponsored the Coweta County Fair every year but once since 1947. Proceeds from the fair help fund a number of community projects.
