Covid-19 is still here, but that did not stop Main Street Fayetteville from announcing its updated 2020 events calendar in response to the scheduling changes brought on by the pandemic.

While some events were cancelled, including EasterPalooza, the “Roaring 20s” Friday Night LIVE, and Holliday Dorsey Fife Museum’s Living History Day, others were rescheduled for later in the year, including Suds and Sounds on the Square and the “Tailgate” Friday Night LIVE, Main Street said.

The popular Taste of Fayette, originally scheduled for June 14, has tentatively been rescheduled for Sept. 27. Other rescheduled events include Georgia Cities Week (from April 17-25 to Oct. 4-10), Suds and Sounds on the Square (May 2 to Oct. 3), and “Tailgate” Friday Night LIVE (Aug. 7 to Aug. 21).

September and later events have not been affected.

“The Main Street Fayetteville Events Calendar is important to so many local and regional residents and guests, so we have worked hard to reschedule everything we possibly could,” said Main Street Program Manager Joyce Waits. “We can’t adequately express how grateful we are to the community for their understanding and patience as we navigate through this coronavirus pandemic. We are especially grateful to our vendors, performers, and volunteers who are working with us to accommodate this new Events Calendar.”

The full list of event cancellations includes EasterPalooza (April 11), Sunrise Service (April 12), “Roaring 20s” Friday Night LIVE (April 17), Earth Day (April 18), Living History Day (April 18), “Strawberry Moon” Friday Night LIVE, and “Luau” Friday Night LIVE.

The full Main Street Fayetteville events calendar can be found at www.Fayetteville-GA.gov/Events and on the Main Street Fayetteville and City of Fayetteville Facebook pages.
