An Atlanta man faces multiple charges stemming from Jan. 24 incidents at the home of family members and at a nearby home he burglarized, according to Sheriff Barry Babb.
Bobby Quinn, 26, was charged with two counts of burglary, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, simple assault, criminal trespass, theft of services and obstruction, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Babb said deputies responded to two calls from a Thornton Court residence off Kenwood Road. The first call was from a taxi driver who said Quinn had refused to pay after being transported to the residence.
A second call, a domestic incident with a family member, came from the residence after Quinn entered the home, Babb said.
Babb said Quinn after the domestic call had initially barricaded himself in an upstairs bathroom, then left the residence as deputies began to arrive, having taken items from the home.
Another call soon came in from a nearby residence on Kenwood Road, where the resident told arriving deputies that she heard glass break and fled the house, placing the call for assistance at a neighbor’s house, Babb said.
Deputies arriving at that location saw Quinn fleeing through the back yard of foot. A foot chase ensued, with Quinn being tased, then being taken into custody without further incident, Babb said.
Deputies subsequently found that a cinder block had been used to break the glass and facilitate Quinn’s entry into the home, where he took a cell phone and two steak knives, said Babb.
