Update, Jan. 28: Fayetteville Police continue to investigate the Monday afternoon shooting incident that took place at the Discount Tobacco gas station located on Hwy. 85 North (North Glynn Street) at Kathi Avenue in Fayetteville.
According to reports, occupants of two vehicles at the gas station interacted with each other, which led to a suspect opening fire at occupants in the other vehicle. The victim’s vehicle fled the scene northbound and a short distance later collided with a vehicle on Creekwood Trail said department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett.
Burdett said the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The suspects’ vehicle, which was reported to be a black convertible BMW, possibly a 6 Series, with black rims, was seen driving away from the scene traveling northbound on Hwy. 85, Burdett said.

Initial reports indicate that one person was shot during the incident, and that person has been transported to an area hospital.
Police are looking for suspects who were seen driving northbound away from the scene in a newer-model, black convertible BMW, possibly a 6 Series, with black rims.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911. Anyone spotting the suspect’s vehicle should avoid confrontation and call 911. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, according to Ann Marie Burdett, the city’s public information officer.
