The Flat Creek Niners, a ladies golf league with over 100 members, recently hosted its annual charity golf tournament at Flat Creek Country Club to benefit Healing4Heroes, a non-profit 501c3 organization whose objective is to connect wounded service members, as well as those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury, with A.D.A. compliant service dogs.

Donations were made through entry fees, silent auction, raffle ticket sales, hole sponsorships, anonymous donations, and a generous donation by Yamaha Golf Cars, corporate sponsor of the event for the last 4 years.

Jan Green, President of Flat Creek Niners, said, “The Flat Creek Niners are honored to support Healing4Heroes. Our members have generous hearts and look forward to supporting a worthy local charity each year with their time and energy. Volunteers, led by event organizers Sue Reed and Sue Slade, spend months to prepare for the event. Charity Tournament day is always exciting and fulfilling for our members.”

To date, the ladies group has raised funds through its annual golf tournament for Promise Place, Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy, and Healing Bridge Clinic, just to name a few.

Piper Hill, founder of Tyrone-based Healing4Heroes, is proud to partner with the Flat Creek Niners and is grateful for the support for the organization, which survives solely on donations and grants.  Photo/Submitted.
